The second season of "Witches of East End" premiered on Lifetime on July 6, Sunday.

The show--starring Madchen Amick, Rachel Boston, Jilia Ormond, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Daniel Di Tomasso, and Eric Winter--premiered with "A Moveable Beast."

There were a lot of exciting and (and some rather confusing) events in the season premiere: we see Joanna's long lost son Frederick arriving in East End. Joanna still struggling with Athena's poison a week after the Asgard portal was opened. Ingrid has strangely started sleepwalking and ends up feeding a beast, and Freya is worries about Killan, who kissed a woman names Eva. Freya also discovers Dash's powers, and Wendy meets a stranger called "Herb Boy."

The last scene where Ingrid looked like she's dreaming or sleepwalking has been explained by executive producer Maggie Friedman:

"She's sleepwalking, and she's kind of in a trance. It's a creature who she's having these encounters with, but she doesn't remember them. We'll learn more as the season goes on about who this creature is, why they're there and what their connection is with Ingrid. It's pretty sexy, I think. It's pretty fun. ... And God bless Rachel Boston, she was so game to do that. It was pretty weird," she told TV Line.

Friedman also explained the mysterious sex monster we all just got introduced to--it's called Mandragora, a beast from Asgard. She explained that it is a real thing, "which comes from 'Mandrake root,' but we sort of invented our own version that has all these special abilities," she added.
