Apple will be holding its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) beginning in June 2. The annual event allows Apple to introduce new operating systems and products for reference of developers and the market. Since the event has been a venue for software and hardware updates, recent information suggests that Apple will be announcing the OS X 10.10, iOS 8 and new MacBook systems. What can people expect?

Apple has been releasing Maverick OS updates for the past periods. In line with this, Apple may be tweaking some things to the OS X to integrate it better with the iOS 7. According to recent reports, the upcoming OS X will be called "Syrah." The update will be offering enhanced graphics processing, better battery life including improved overall performance.

The upcoming update will also provide a "flatter" feel. Apple will reportedly introduce more white space to the OS compared to previous versions.

As mentioned, the upcoming WWDC should also shed information on the next iOS 8. According to predictions, the mobile operating system will be focusing on health related data and apps. The increasing interest over "wearable" devices and other companies focusing on health related apps, there seems to be a shift in health and fitness monitoring. Some apps now can track calories, food intake, sleep and even overall health of the person.

Transforming the iOS into a more health oriented operating system will help Apple prepare for its iWatch. The iOS will reportedly come with a "healthbook" app that can track the user's burned calories, traveled miles and other related data. Other things it can monitor include body fat percentage, BMI and weight.

Another predicted device to appear at the event is the 12-inch MacBook Retina. The 12-inch seeks to reconcile the 11 and 13-inch models into a more compact but still powerful device.
