Pure Storage to expand globally with new $225 mln series D bomb

California-based Pure Storage, specialized in speedy flash-storage boxes for data centers, gobbles up $225 million in their series D round from Investors.
Investors who participated in the round include T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., Tiger Global, Wellington Management Company, Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, and Sutter Hill Ventures. The new fusion brings Pure at a pre-money valuation more than 3 billion and plans to be used for international expansion.
Pure Storage, founded in 2009, employs 230 people with plans to reach near 500. Clientele include the likes of Riverview Hospital, the San Jose Sharks, and Yodle.
History of their $470 million total rounds broken down include: 2013 $150 million; 2012 $40 million; 2011 $30 million.
