A new app called FIO was launched to help people monitor the time in five different locations in an easier way. FIO is also a free Chrome extension, according to TechCrunch.

FIO lets users arrange five time zones, including their own, in chronological order. Each time zone is assigned a color that changes depending on the time of the day. An orange background tells users that it is afternoon in that place. Indigo, on the other hand, means it is midnight, the report detailed.

One of the FIO's advantages over other similar apps such as a world clock with map or a time zone website is that it makes time monitoring a lot easier for users. The world map with different clock faces may appear confusing at times. In addition, the color and format of the FIO are especially effective in helping cut through jet lag for frequent travelers, the report explained.

The developers of FIO are planning to add more features to the app such as winter and summer clocks. Another upcoming plan is to make the app compatible with mobile devices, TechCrunch reported.
