Tesla Motors Inc. has planned expanding their business arm in China. However, the car manufacturer’s manager left the company prior the expansion of the company in the largest auto market in the world. This was according to a report from Bloomberg.

Kingston Chang, Tesla’s General Manager left the company with undisclosed reason. This was according to an email statement from Tesla’s Vice President Veronica Wu sent today. According to Sina.com, Chang’s resignation was due to personal reasons.

Chang did not respond to text messages and phone calls regarding the news on his resignation, reported Bloomberg. Mr. Chang joined Tesla in March 2013 after his exit from Bentley China.

Chang’s exit follows billionaire CEO Elon Musk’s move to get a strong foothold in China with the car manufacturer’s electric cars. According to a statement issued by Musk in January, Tesla aimed to match the US levels by next year after its China expansion, reported Bloomberg.

Telsa started accepting orders for its Models S in China since last August.
