Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has acquired an estate in Palm Springs for the price tag of $5.23 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Located in Old Las Palmas neighborhood, the 1.3-acre property was designed by architect Donald Wexler. Renovated in 1963, the desert lair has a Modernist design which features floor-to-ceiling glass walls, a wide stone fireplace, a sunken bar and wooden ceilings. The property has six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms and quarters for the staff, the report said.

Singer and TV show host Dinah Shore once lived on the 7,022-square foot home that also boasts of a swimming pool and a tennis court. Before DiCaprio's purchase, the property changed owners a couple of years ago in a $4.9 million deal, the report said.

The listing agent for the property was Rita Kurtz of Surterre Properties while DiCaprio was represented by Paul Pedrazas of Windermere Real Estate, the report said.

According to a Daily Mail report last month on what was then a rumored purchase, DiCaprio was able to save $765,000 on the real estate purchase because the asking price was first pegged at $5,995,000.

The Daily Mail report described the property's bathroom of the home that DiCaprio can now call his own, "Stepping into the master bathroom is a walk into modern splendour with its tile floor and blue mosaic tile walls, glass-walled show and modern stainless steel sink." A "double-door stainless steel and commercial-style stove" is featured in the kitchen which is joined to a "quaint dining area" that gives a view of the lawn, patio and pool.

The 39-year-old actor was Oscar nominated for "The Wolf of Wall Street." He also got an Academy Award nomination in 1994 for "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," in 2005 for "The Aviator" and in 2006 for "Blood Diamond." DiCaprio is also known for his role in "Titanic," "Inception" and "J.Edgar," the Los Angeles Times reported.
