Wine app Hello Vino has bought photo-sharing app Corkbin to improve its customers' wine shopping experience, according to The Drinks Business. The financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed in the said report.

Hello Vino Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rick Breslin said of the deal: "The acquisition of Corkbin allows Hello Vino to enhance the entire wine shopping experience. While the Hello Vino app assists wine shoppers before they buy, the Corkbin app facilitates the tracking and sharing of their wine purchases."

This is the first time that two wine apps have merged. Under the terms of the transaction, Corkbin founder Catherine Liao will become Hello Vino's special projects director, the report detailed.

According to PR Newswire, Hello Vino is a platform where consumers and wineries can communicate and negotiate purchases. Through the acquisition of Corkbin, Hello Vino's customers will be able to interact with other wine lovers even after the purchase. In addition, Corkbin will be adding a feature that will allow users to gift wines to their friends in the social app, the report stated.
