IBM and AT&T announced that they have struck a new strategic partnership to help businesses manage network security and cyber threats in an easier way, according to VentureBeat.

As part of the team-up, the two firms will launch a single service that has both network security and threat monitoring and analytics features. As the Internet and mobile industry continues to grow, so do cyber threats. IBM and AT&T will work together to address that problem, the report explained.

The partnership aims to decrease cost, simplify security management, and gain exposure in other iT environments. According to Christina Richmond, an analyst at market research firm IDC, the team-up could be the answer to the market's need for an amped-up end-to-end network security system, the report detailed.

AT&T Business Solutions security executive Andy Daudelin said in a statement: "With today's constantly changing threat environment, companies need cost-effective solutions that provide end-to-end protection alongside real-time monitoring and response operations. We've created an unparalleled solution with the combined strength, reliability, and agility of AT&T network-based security services and IBM threat intelligence and analytics."
