Tripp Baird, a health and lifestyle investor, is raising $150 million for a new investment fund based in San Francisco, based on a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The said fund is called Builders Fund, according to an exclusive report by VentureBeat.

Baird is forming the fund together with Vishal Vasishth, the managing director of India's SONG Investment Advisors. The latter is a firm which was created to support economic growth and open career opportunities through investment in small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in India. SONG focuses on companies involved in the financial, renewable energy, and education industries, the report detailed.

Although Baird and Vasishth's names are included in the said filing, both have remained mum about the Builders Fund, the report added.

For more than 10 years alrady, Baird has been an investor in health and lifestyle ventures. According to his LinkedIn page, his new early-stage investment fund "backs companies that help people live more healthy and sustainable lives while addressing social and environmental issues, making the world a better place." It is presumed that he was referring to Builders Fund in that statement, the report explained.

With the internatinal investment background of Vasishth, the fund will most likely focus on ventures outside of the US, VentureBeat reported.
