Two former executives of Orix USA Corp joined the management team of Preston Hollow Capital Llc, an investment company that opened its doors in January, Bloomberg reported. Based in Dallas, Preston Hollow Capital has capital of over $100 million.

Citing a statement from the company, the report said it has appointed Mike Cousins as its Chief Financial Officer while Cliff Weiner is the firm's Managing Director. With their appointment, they will be working again with Jim Thompson, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Preston Hollow Capital who served Orix USA for over two decades. Thompson also served as Chief Executive Officer of Orix USA, the unit of Orix Corp, a finance and leasing firm based in Tokyo, for ten years.

According to the statement, Preston Hollow Capital's investment strategies include fixed income, private equity, venture capital and alternative investing, the report said.

Cousin was the Chief Financial Officer of Orix USA since 1999 while Weiner has been with the company for 17 years. They led various deals which include the acquisition of merger and acquisition adviser Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin in 2006, the report said.

On January 8, PE HUB reported that Founder Jim Thompson left Orix USA on December 31 and launched his investment firm on January 1. Brian Prince, the former Chairman of Tokyo-based Aozora Bank, replaced as the Chief Executive Officer of Orix. Preston Hollow's $100 million capital was provided by Thompson himself.

Preston Hollow Capital, the name of which was derived from a historic trail that has been used in Texas for centuries, said it was discussing possible partnerships with institutional sponsors, Thompson told PE HUB.  He also said that his newly-minted investment firm will be adding 25 executives to its team this year. Most of the hires will be made for positions in the managing director level. Thompson added that he is looking to hire talented people possessing "exceptional track records."
