Virginia's Apex Clean Energy raises $4.4M in equity funding

Apex Clean Energy Inc secured approximately $4.4 million in its most recent equity fundraising. The company is a wind power developer based in Charlottesville, Virginia, according to Bloomberg.

Based on a January 24 disclosure to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Apex has increased its raised equity to over $10 million since November. The document also said the fundraising was backed by 30 investors, the report detailed.

The wind power developer is seeking to raise around $25 million in this funding round. This includes the $5.6 million that it had secured last year, Bloomberg reported.

Founded in 2009, Apex Clean Energy Inc is now made up of a team of 70 professionals experienced in the energy sector. The company develops commercial wind and solar energy facilities across North America. The firm's staff works with landowners and communities to develop modern facilities that generate jobs, income for landowners, clean source of energy for the region, and revenue for the local government, according to the company's website.
