Home Depot purchases Houston-based retailer Blinds.com

Home Depot announced on Thursday that it has bought Blinds.com, a window covering store based in Houston. The terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, according to Chron.

Blinds.com was established in 1996 and currently employs 167 workers in Houston. The firm sells window coverings through its online and mobile portals. For three consecutive years, WorkplaceDynamics ranked the company among the region's best places to work. the report detailed.

In the Thursday announcement, the Atlanta-based firm said it hopes to work with Blinds.com for the expansion of its technology on its website homedepot.com. Meanwhile, the management team and workforce of Blinds.com will continue to operate from its offices in Houston, the report said.

Blinds.com Chief Executive Officer Jay Steinfeld said in a statement: "We will continue to build the Blinds.com brand and culture in our own unique way, and we believe The Home Depot is the best partner to help us do this over the long term."
