A Yahoo spokesperson confirmed earlier media reports that its Editor-in-Chief, Jai Singh, has left the company. Sing's resignation will be effective tomorrow, according to TechCrunch.

Yahoo is in the middle of an executive restructuring. Singh's resignation comes just a day after news broke out about the firing of its chief operating officer (COO), the report noted.

The departure of former COO Henrique de Castro has been a costly transaction for Yahoo. However, it is not clear whether Singh's exit will have a similar financial repercussion for the company. Still, losing an editorial leader is not a good sign for the Internet giant. Reports described Singh's departure as voluntary, the report explained.

Singh was hired before Marissa Mayer became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yahoo. It is more likely that Mayer's new direction did not suit Singh, or his position was made redundant. Yahoo did not provide further details on the quitting of its Editor-in-Chief, TechCrunch reported.
