Hearst Corp inked a deal on Monday to acquire an 85% stake in a Dallas firm that provides home health and hospice software, according to San Antonio Express-News.

The terms of the proposed acquisition of Homecare Homebase LLC were undisclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, pending necessary government approvals, the report said.

Upon completion of the said sale, Homecare Homebase will become part of the health care group of Hearts. This group includes Zynx Health, MCG (formerly known as Milliman Care Guidelines), and First Databank. Under the terms of the proposed deal, April Anthony will still be the Chief Executive Officer of the software provider, the report explained.

Homecare Homebase provides home health and hospice institutions with a Web-based software that decreases company costs. The said software also streamlines agency operations. In addition, the software allows the exchange of real-time information between employees, doctors, and field staff, San Antonio Express-News reported.
