According to Xinhua, the official news channel of China's government, China Mobile will officially be the first carrier to provide 4G LTE in China starting Dec. 18th. They will then be followed by the next two major carriers, China Unicom and China Telecom.

The launch of 4G in China would certainly boost Apple sales as it can begin offering two of its latest iPhone models that are compatible with China Mobile's 4G TD-LTE system.

According to Wikipedia, LTE, is an initialism of Long Term Evolution, or marketed as 4G LTE, is a standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. LTE increases the capacity and speed by using a different radio interface together with core network improvements.

China Mobile is the world's largest mobile network with over 760 milion subscribers. With that figure alone, Apple will definitely be getting a significant boost that it has been yearning, to slowly regain market shares lost to Android, according to TechCrunch.

Apple hit a few more snags before securing an operating license in China from the state government. Apple procured the license to run on China Mobile's wireless network on Sept 2013.

Xinhua added that the 4G system will be implemented first in Beijing, Guangzhou and Chongqing. Shanghai residents would reportedly have to wait a bit longer as the city is still in the process of setting up its own 4G system.

Other than Apple, other foreign entities who will be able to benefit from the wireless communication network update include Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, Qualcomm, as well as Samsung Electronics.
