India's Gujarat's plastic parks at Dahej and Sanand are expected to attract around INR5000 crore worth of investments from business owners, according to a report published by The Economic Times.

The government of Gujarat has allotted 200 acres of land at Dahej and another 100 acres at Sanand for the plastic park project. Raju Desai, chairman of Plastivision India 2013, said almost 150 medium and small manufacture enterprises (MSME) have booked their plots at the plastic park. Plastivision India is a trade event organized by All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA). The five-day trade fair for plastic enterprises will start on December 12, the report said.

According to Desai, the Dahej plastic park is expected to attract INR3,000 crore investment. The Sanand Plastic Park, on the other hand, is expected to attract INR2,000 crore investment. Most of the investors would be plastic automotive parts makers, said the report.

Desai said the organization aims to double the consumption of polymer within the next five years. He also said the plastic industry has a huge potential for exports, The Economic Times reported.
