Bitcoins to pay for university tuition fee

The University of Nicosia, a private school located in Cyprus, claimed that it is now the first university in the world where you can pay your tuition and other fees through Bitcoin, the world's most popular digital currency as of the moment.

The university, which teaches in English, has a student base of 5,000 and at the same time seeks publicity in par with a new master's program in digital currency, which is set to be launched next spring.

The program, the world's first Master of Science Degree in Digital Currency, is specifically designed to appearl to government administrators to entrepreneurs whom are interested in taking on digital currency as it covers both the technicalities of systems like Bitcoin. It also presents how systems will evolve and change our society.

"Digital currency is an inevitable technical development that will lead to significant innovation," Christos Vlachos, the university's chief financial officer, said in a press release via Wired.

With this bold move, Bitcoin thus moves into the registrar's office and underscores growing mainstream acceptance of a currency born among digital cryptography followers.
