United States Pipe and Foundry Co. and US Pipe Fabrication closed the acquisition of Minnesota-based Fab Pipe Inc,  according to a report published by AL.com.

U.S. Pipe is one of the portfolios of private equity firms Comvest Partners and Wynnchurch Capital. Its chief executive is Paul Ciolino. The pipe company is based in Birmingham, said the report.

Fab Pipe is a company in Minnesota that fabricates and distributes ductile iron pipe and fittings. The pipe firm mainly caters to the water infrastructure sector. Ted Muntz is thre president of Fab Pipe, the report said.

In a statement, Ciolino said of the deal: "Fab Pipe strengthens U.S. Pipe's fabrication capabilities in the Midwest and allows us to better serve and grow with our key waterworks distributors.Ted Muntz has built a business with an outstanding reputation for serving its customers. We plan to apply his knowledge and expertise across our fabrication network."
