Cargill India to fast track construction of factories for the India market

Cargill, the agriculture firm, announced recently the preparedness in constructing INR 100 crore ultra modern feed plant located int he Malwa belt in Punjab. This announcement was conveyed to Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal during their meeting. 

Badal, for his part, had assured the company and the public of the issuances of early clearances in setting up of the plant.

The country head for Cargill, Siraj Chaudhary said the company had required the purchase of land in the Malwa region. On the site, a feed plant would rise with a 75,000 tonne production capacity with a projected cost of INR100 crore. According to Chaudhary, the plant would be catering to cattle feed requirements in the dairy industry of Punjab and Rajasthan.

The Cargill management showed its interest in constructing a quality cattle feed processing unit, a marketing unit for maize as well as investment in the milk sector with the increase in production, improvement of qualuty and increased export. Chaudhary also confirmed the successful partnership with Markfed in Distric Moga for wheat procurement, with an eye towards the expansion of its base in other areas in the region.

For its part, the deputy chief minster assured the Cargil executive team of the full efforts on the part of the Punjabi government  in providing all amenities and clearances for the company in the set up of its industrial units. An invitation was also extended to the company executive heads to for the Investment Promotion Summit organized by the state government to be held fro, December 9 until December 10.
