PurThread Technologies closed latest funding round

Renowned textile firm PurThread Technologies recently announced the closure of its latest equity funding round with pledges amounting to USD7 million. The funding round was led by current PurThread Board Chairman Richard S. Bodman together with a select group of investors with a common goal of the reduction of the bioburden in the hospital industry. 

The funds would be utilized for the growth, research and development of technologies to further the award winning life science and high performance textile products of the company.

Bodman said, "The markets for PurThreads innovative technology and products are compelling. We are pleased to support the company's goal of continuously reducing the level of bioburden in hospital environments. Antimicrobial resistance is on the rise, leading hospitals to focus on additional ways to reduce the spread of infection. Just look at what has happenedd with the hand sanitizer market. We're excited about the expansion of PurThread's current product offerings and the promise of PurThread's research into the future applications."
