Velocity Venture Capital Boosts 10 promising startups

Velocity Venture Capital announced its decision to boost 10 technology startups into the Entrepreneurs Showcase. This is the third stage of its Business Accelerator program.

The 10 chosen tech startups for this year include 19 Pencils, Apptology, Archer, CirrusMD Inc, CPG Data Inc, The Gift of Education, HomeZada, Mindful Meal, SmartCase, and SpecialtyMD.

They said accelerator program began in October and commences weekly. Entrepreneurs included int he program work on eight modules about growth and financing. They are mentored by successful executives and investors. It will be showcased on December 3 at Velocity's Entrepreneurs campus in Folsom. Here, the 10 startups will present their business to potential investors and clients.

In a news release, Velocity Venture Capital general partner Jack Crawford described the program: "The sessions are a fire hose of information for these entrepreneurs that provide experiential learning -- and a dramatic expansion of their professional networks."

The program is a joint project of Velocity Venture Capital and the University of the Pacific. It is also supported by other companies such as Kauffman Fellows Program, Dell Inc., Bank of America, and others.
