Mechanical issues delay Cardinals flight to Boston

Mechanical problems delayed the flight of St. Louis Cardinals back to Boston on Tuesday. According to Manager Mike Matheny, the players had been on board the grounded plane for two hours. He did not say when the flight would be able to take off.

The St. Louis Cardinals is battling the Boston Red Sox for the World Series this year. Red Sox currently has the lead after winning three games to the Cardinals' two. Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday night.

Forbes ranked the St. Louis Cardinals on the tenth of its list of Major League Baseball's Team Valuations. As of March this year, the team owned by William DeWitt Jr, was valued at USD 716 million. Last year, the team posted revenues of USD 239 million on an operating income of USD 19.9 million. The Cardinals also broke ground on Ballpark Village in February. The team is financing the development of the commercial real estate set to open next year.
