A filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Chinese app maker GO Launcher would be launching an initial public offering. Financial and other pertinent details were unclear, but the Chinese app maker through its holding company Sungy Mobile Limited would be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker name "GOMO."

The Beijing-based company had been behind a series of mobile apps for Android with a combined 87 million of monthly active users worldwide. GO was also able to ride out the constant shift of its consumers in mainland China.

Its switch three years ago from feature phone-centered products to creating products for Android had allowed GO Launcher to capitalize on the growing smartphone market. In the first six months of this year, GO Launcher's revenue increased 87% to USD22.7 million. 40% of the revenues recorded this year came from paid apps and its premium theme products. Mobile reading services made up 31.8% of the revenues.
