A shooting at Drai's After Hours,a nightclub at Bally's hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip, left one dead and two in critical condition. The person who died was a patron who tried to subdue the shooter while the two injured were employees of the club. Another guard was also believed to be wounded. Meanwhile, the gunman was brought to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The police did not give names of those involved in the shooting.

The incident was caused by a USD 30 cover charge. Police said the gunman paid the USD 30 but demanded his money back. He told employees there were only a few people that day. An argument then ensued.

Caesars Entertainment Corp, the owner of both Bally's and Drais, sent condolences to the victims. This was another blow to the entertainment company. In July, Bloomberg reported that sales had fallen to USD 2.16 billion for the second quarter. With fewer people gambling, revenues of the largest casino owner in the US dropped 0.3%. Its outstanding debt at the end of June was pegged at USD 23.7 billion.
