A new leak had confirmed earlier reports about the details about Nokia Corp's new Lumia phablet. Nokia's official Tmall shop run by e-commerce company Alibaba indicated that the oversized Windows phone would be unveiled on October 22. The Lumia 1520 would be launched at a Nokia World event that would be hosted in Abu Dhabi.

Although there was no image in the Tmall site listing, the Windows phone would be six inches long with a 1080p screen. The specifications indicated that the phone was larger than average. The new Windows phablet would also be running on a fast Snapdragon 800 processor. The phone would also be equipped with a 20-megapixel Pureview camera. It would be sold for a retail price of CNY4,999 or USD820.

Both Nokia and Microsoft had been struggling to regain its market share in the mobile phone market. Perhaps as a strategic attempt to boost its market share percentages, both companies recently went into an agreement. Nokia would sell its handset business to Microsoft for a reported EUR5.44 billion or USD7.17 billion. The agreement would also have some of Nokia's executives, including former chief executive Stephen Elop, to join Microsoft.
