A British judge had cleared the sons of convicted banker Bernard Madoff from any wrongdoing in a case filed against them by the liquidator of his British estate. The judge said through a written ruling that the honesty of the two men was not in doubt.

Judge Andrew Popplewell said the two Madoff offspring, Mark and Andrew, were a couple of many several UK directors of Bernard Madoff's securities firm based out of London. The reputations of the two Madoff offspring had been tainted by their father's multi-billion dollar fraud. The dismissal fo the civil case against them all, the judge delivered a positive endorsement of the younger Madoffs of their characters.

The judge said, "Their honesty and integrity has been vindicated." He further added, "The resolute and temperate way they have conducted themselves in these proceedings does them great credit."

The judge said that Andrew Madoff was 'seriously ill with cancer' and was so ill that he was unable to submit evidence on his behalf, even via videolink.
