GI Partners, a multi strategy private equity investment management firm had announced the purchase of a three storey 620, 000 square foot LEED certified data center and crisis command center. The edifice is located very near the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and is named the Regent Commons.

The investment was made possible through the efforts of Datacore LP, a discretionary real estate fund managed by GI Partners. Datacore was established by the California State Teachers' Retirement System back in 2012 as a core investment vehicle to meet investments in technology focused real estate located in the United States. The coverage includes corporate campuses, data centers, internet gateways and other life science properties leased to tenants.

According GI Partners Vice President Todd Blanding, "Regent Commons is a well-located core asset that features numerous distinctive technolgy attributes including raised floor environment and significant backup mechanical and power redundancies. We continued to actively evaluate attractive investment opportunities around the country on behalf of our technology advantaged real estate program and have been encouraged by our progress to date."
