SundaySky raises USD20 million funding, receives backing from Comcast Ventures

Video ad company SundaySky recently closed its Series C funding with USD20 million in investment commitments. The recent funding round was led by Comcast Ventures. The funding round also saw the appointment of Comcast Ventures managing director Andrew Cleland as a new member of SundaySky's board of directors.

Participating investors were existing backers Norwest Venture Partners, Carmel Ventures, and Globespan Capital Partners. New investors who joined the round were Vintage Investment Partners and Liberty Global Ventures.

The video ad company had raised a total of USD40 million in investments.

SundaySky refers to Smart Video as its core product. Smart Video is a video that is created in real-time with a combination of branded content prepared in advance and personalized customer information. SundaySky counted brands such as AT&T, Office Depot, and Allstate as its clients. Its Smartvideo business had delivered 140 million views since its inception in October 2011.
