The new customers of AT&T would soon be able to buy Mobile Share plans. This would involve higher data fees but would allow subscribers to share data allowances among multiple devices.

The No.2 US mobile operator said last Friday that the elimination of older plans for new customers would take effect on Oct. 25. According to a report from Reuters, the mobile operator had been streamlining its offerings because data share plans were the most popular.

AT&T said that their existing customers could keep their current plans even when they upgrade to a new device. This was unlike its biggest rival Verizon Wireless, where customers could no longer keep their plans upon upgrading. In 2012, both companies introduced the shared data service plans.

AT&T had generated revenue of USD127.434 billion in 2012. The mobile operator had a total net income of USD7.3 billion in the same year. As of 2012, AT&T had total assets valued USD92.695 billion.
