Tamkeen CEO resigns post

Mahmood Al Kooheji, one of the top businessmen in Bahrain, had resigned from his position as CEO of Tamkeen, a government supported entity that provide job training as well as business support for the local populace. He is also the head of the Bahraini sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat. He did not reveal the reason for his resignation.

He would be replaced as CEO by Tamkeen chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa. This was confirmed by a Gulf Daily News report.

Prior to his assumption of the office as CEO, he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the firm. He was the CEO at Tamkeen from 2011 until 2012. He was the Director of Government Shareholdings Directorate from 1994 and 2005 before his appointment as an Assistant Undersecretary of Economic Affairs. During this time, he was active in the initiative of the Bahrain Economic Development Board which prepared the country towards the establishement of Bahrain's Mumtalakat Holdings Company BSC.
