BlueCrest hires Nomura's Kfoury

BlueCrest Capital Management LLP is a hedge fund firm with USD36 billion assets under its management. The fund was formerly run by JP Morgan Chase & Co. trader Michael Platt. According to a Reuters report, the fund would hire Marcel Kfoury, a former head of Nomura Holdings Inc's head of emerging markets credit trading.

Kfoury joined Nomura in July 2009 stepped down from his post on October 1 said a Reuters report. He would become the credit portfolio manager for BlueCrest, Kfoury said in a phone interview from London today. He would be based in the UK capital and would start his new position by January next year, he said.

BlueCrest is the third-biggest European hedge fund. The fund had been luring traders from Wall Street and rival asset managers as it seek to create an "investment bank quality" trading group, said the company through its website.

Kfoury said that he would help to manage a part of the USD2 billion hedge fund.
