SAC Energy manager to retire after 12 years of service
Nick Tiller is the energy portfolio manager of SAC Capital Advisors LP. The energy manager would be retiring from the USD14 billion hedge fund led by billionaire Steven A. Cohen.
Tiller worked for SAC for around 12 years and was one of only a few portfolio managers to oversee more than USD1 billion or more assets. Tiller planned to direct his focus on Sustainable America, a charity he founded. This was according to an emailed statement Tiller sent to his colleagues. Tiller also added that he planned to spend more time with his family.
In an emailed statement SAC said, "We thank Nick for his years of hard work at SAC, wish him well in his retirement and expect that he will make Sustainable America as successful as he made his 12-year career as a portfolio manager at SAC."
According to Tiller, he would focus on alleviating shortages in food and energy sectors after years of researching and profiting from his investments in the said industries.
