Season 15 of "Law & Order: SVU" premiered on NBC yesterday and fans were not disappointed, said The Inquisitr. According to the news website, the police, legal drama, whose main characters were Detective Olivia Benson, Sergeant John Munch and Detective Fin Tutuola, got personal this time.

The opening episode showed picked up from the final episode of Seaon 14. Olivia Benson played by Mariska Hargitay was abducted, abused and beaten by William Lewis played by Pablo Schreiber. Meanwhile, Benson's colleagues were desperate to find her. Comments on Twitter gathered by The Inquisitr were positive about the drama's opening salvo. Viewers had praised Hargitay's powerful performance in the episode.

Shows like "The Voice" and "Law & Order: SVU" would be key to raising NBC's revenues. NBC Universal Chief Executive Officer Steve Burke had said in a conference that he expected his network's retransmission consent revenue to climb to USD 200 million this year from virtually none two years ago. He also said the network would start closing the monetization gap with rival networks in the coming years. NBC is currently trailing CBS, Fox and ABC by USD 500 million and USD 1 billion as far as profitability is concerned, Burke added.
