The social feeds in the Middle East on Wednesday showed Samsung following a flashy trend of Apple in its new iPhone 5S launch. Samsung would be selling Galaxy S4 units in gold brown and gold pink finishes.

The units were also reportedly available in the Middle East only for now. Samsung has yet to disclose information as to how much the gold-colored phones were worth on retail.

The gold-colored phones announcement of Samsung came just days before Apple Inc launched its first gold iPhone model. The champagne-like finish iPhone was considered the first mobile unit of Apple that was not in its trademark white or black colors.

Samsung said it had sold 20 million Galaxy S4 units in the two months since it was first launched in April. However, Bloomberg reports had said that the tech company would be facing downgrades in profit outlook that it had already lost 13% in share value since April because of its disappointing Galaxy S4 sales. A strategic conference would be held on November 6 to discuss plans how to bounce back from its share dip.
