Allen-Vanguard announced that it had sold its Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) business to SafariLand Group. No financial details were given for the all-cash transaction. Included in the deal were the MedEng TM bomb suit, bomb disposal robots and its ancillary tools. The sale also included Allen-Vanguard's Crew Survivability unit that features products for blast attenuation and thermal management.

The military and homeland security solutions provider said the sale enabled them to settle its outstanding third party debt. It would now be able to grow its remaining units because of the transaction. These businesses included the Electronic Systems unit and the Counter-Threat Solutions business which provide solutions to defeat terrorists and threats from extremist groups.

Allen-Vanguard is an Ontario-based portfolio firm of Versa Capital Management. As such, Versa Capital also owns the portfolio business units of Allen-Vanguard. Based in Philadelphia, Versa Capital has more than USD 1.3 billion of assets under management.
