DMCC now largest free trade zone in the UAE

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre had become the largest free zone in the United Arab Emirates. It overtook Jebel Ali according to its executive chairman in an announcement made last Saturday.

Now, DMCC has an active registry of 7,330 companies, with an average rate of 200 company signings each month. According to its executive chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the company boasts of a 94% retention rate. Bin Sulayem said that DMCC stands to retain the title of UAE's fastest growing free trade zone, with a projected target of 10,000 firms signed up by 2015.

According to Bin Sulayem. "We are now the UAE's largest and fastest growing free zone with over 7,330 active member companies - we remain committed to further growth in order to cement Dubai as the global hub for commodities trade and enterprise." He further added, "We are well on our way to achieving our target of 10,000 companies by 2015, at which point we anticipate to be almost at capacity."
