Benu BioPharma recently announced the creation of Benu Bioventures, an investment initiative in the biopharmaceutical industry that aims to provide funding for the developemnt of preclinical pharmaceutical projects to the human testing stage. The fund would utilize the company's expertise in commercialization of technologies as well as pharmaceutical development.

Bioventures provides assistance for the creation and funding of virtual companies that would assist in the development of candidate drugs in a cost efficient as well as time efficient manner. The funding activities would focus on possible products backed by strong animal testing data as well as a clear regulatory path which addresses specific unmet medical needs. 

According to Benu Bioventures co-founder and partner, "With our clinical, regulatory and corporate development capabilities, we can offer founders a unique solution to the current funding gap for product focused start-ups. We collaborate with founders to move their drug candidates into the clinic and then partner with a large pharma or biotech company to corporate development."
