According to the same report, Miley Cyrus was seen breaking down while singing in the video. It was also not difficult to notice that the former child star was sitting naked on a huge wrecking ball while swinging to and fro. The song was also rumored to be about his past lover Liam Hemsworth. The music video was directed by Terry Richardson which had broken the record for most views in one day on the online music video network Vevo.

Vevo LLC is a joint venture of Sony Music Entertainment Group, Abu Dhabi Media, Google and Universal Music Group. The online music video network was officially launched last December 8, 2009. Vevo's content was given EMI licensing under the group without taking an ownership stake.
