Pet Food Experts Inc had bought Zeus and Company Pet Supply Distributors Inc for an undisclosed amount. The announcement was made by SDR Ventures who served as the advisor to Pet Food for the deal. An investment banking company, SDR Ventures is based in Colorado.

Pet Food Experts is a premium pet foods and pet supplies distributor based in Rhode Island. It caters to clients in New York, New England and the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. The acquisition was said to enable Pet Food to broaden its customer base. The Rhode Island company would now be able reach retailers in Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Indiana as well.

David Levy founded Zeus & Company in 1997. It is also engaged in the pet food and pet products distribution business. Levy joined the Pet Food Experts family but would remain President of Zeus.

SDR Ventures Managing Director Carol Frank said Zeus and David Levy are a great fit for Pet Food Experts. "The acquisition adds to Pet Food Experts' scale and brings valued brands to all of the regions it serves," she added.
