Sweden-based telecommunications company Tele2 said it wants to increase its share in the Dutch mobile telephone market to at least 20% once it rolls out its own network. Tele2, which operates through T-Mobile's network, cuurently holds a 5% market share in the Netherlands.

In a conference, Tele2 Netherlands Chief Executive Officer Guenther Vogelpoel told analysts that this was their goal. "We see this as an ambition, that's what we'll say about it," he said. Vogelpoel, however, did not state the company's projected date of accomplishing their goal. He also specify the date of the launching of Tele2's own network.

Tele2 said it would also like to aim for a 10% market share in business telecommunications and over 15% share in the broadband Internet segment.Vogelpoel said a newcomer like Tele2 would be able to capture a larger share of the Dutch market because of the high prices of mobile data in the country. He said newcomers would be able to lure consumers to their side because of their attractive offers.
