The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) announced that Indonesia invited Filipino businessmen to invest in Amurang City. Indonesia is particularly looking for investments in the construction, shipping and container port, transportation and terminal development sectors.

ABS-CBN News reported that a business group in Indonesia was seeking to construct a merchant marine academy in the city. The group was said to be looking for investment partners to push through with its plans. The academy would be built on land given by the city. Aside from the academy, Amurang reportedly has plans to improve roads and other infrastructure.

PCCI President Miguel Varela said that they are already organizing a trade mission to go to Amurang. The mission would be doing feasibility studies there to look into the possibility of making investments. Varela said they would also be meeting with city officials to talk about Amurang's offer of donating city property to Filipino businessmen who would be investing there.
