Today, Samwer brothers' Global Founders Capital (GFC) fund had announced its first three investments. This was after first few months of its public debut. The first three investments were not that huge, amounting to just over USD5 million. However, it is just the start for nearly USD200 million fund from Oliver and Marc Samwer. Fabian Siegel, Delivery Hero's founder is also part of the new fund.

Three companies were included in the first round of investments. Lingoda, GirlMeetsDress and Videdressing.com were the first three companies included in the initial funding. According to co-founder Fabian Siegel, the company sees big opportunities in online fashion space. This had been the reason why two online fashion startups were included in the investment list.

Marc and Oliver Samwers were the famed duo brothers behind Rocket Internet. The latter was the startup incubator who had launched thousand clones of successful US early stage firms. GFC would allow Samwers to invest in businesses such as consumer-facing ecommerce firms.
