Three Delaware-based casinos co-presented an online gambling site Wednesday, allowing players to play for free. The casino platform DoubleDown has been launched via each of the sponsor casino's homepage to be directed to a Facebook-linked game run by IGT, one of the state's contractual slot machine vendors.

The marketing move was the first of the many steps for the state to implement a full-scale gambling operation online, which will be online in October of this year. Delaware Secretary of Finance Tom Cook said, "This first phase will allow us to really get the players acclimated to the virtual world in a legalized environment." Delaware is among one of the few states who have legalized online gambling with regulations.

Dover Downs Hotel & Casino Chief Executive Ed Sutor said that the free online game will also include promotional deals and special offers on banners.

Cook estimated that legal online gambling may fetch USD3.75 million in tax revenue for the state in its primary year. However, as the state need to make cautious steps to fully implement the activity, the state will reveal revenue projections next month after its meeting with the state's Economic and Financial Advisory Council.
