Vestagen Technical Textiles said that it raised USD 8.25 million in its recently-concluded financing round. Advent Life Sciences, a new investor, led the round. The fundraising was also participated in by Vestagen's founding investor V-Ten Capital, Alliance Healthcare Investment Fund and other private investors. The proceeds of the round would be used to hasten the market launch of its proprietary scrub uniforms as well as other protective suits.

Vestagen is best known for its Vestex brand. Vestex garments are made to quickly repel liquid and prevent the accumulation of contaminants on the fabric. It also has antimicrobial properties.

Vestagen President and Chief Executive Officer Uncas "Ben" B. Favret III discussed the importance of his company's product, "Healthcare workers know to wash their hands between patients, but they cannot easily change their scrubs.  We developed Vestex in response to a major unmet need for durable, comfortable, continuous-wear garments that would protect healthcare workers from the potentially dangerous contaminants they encounter on the job every day."
