Austria's Socialspiel was founded by ex-Rockstar Games employees. The social game startup announced a small additional funding valued EUR200000. The funding was led by German angel fund FLOOR13. Social game veterans, Clemens Beer and Mike Borras, also participated in the funding of Socialspiel.

On the other hand, Mike Borras was recruited Chief Executive Officer for the 2010-founded company. He would take over the post of co-founder Helmut Hutterer who would sit as the company's COO. Prior to his new role at Socialspiel, Mike Borras co-founded local search startup Tupalo. Borras was also a part of Rockstar Games before he established Tupalo. The legacy of Rockstar Games did not end there. The other new investor, Clemens Beer, was also a lead developer at Rockstar Games and is currently the CEO of Tupalo.

Beer and Borras would take individual seats in the board of Socialspiel. Meanwhile, the new funding is intended for general corporate purposes including the growth of the company's development teams.
