California-based vitamin maker SmartyPants Vitamins raised USD 2.59 million in financing. Working together with crowdfunding investment platform CircleUp, SmartyPants was able to get the support of both new and current investors.

After launching its nutritious gummy supplement brand in 2010, SmartyPants had grown tremendously. In a press release, the vitamin maker said that their total sales had risen 1,000% since introducing their multivitamin to the market. The company said that they would be using the money for company growth and enhance support for their trade marketing initiatives. They would also be using the funds to hire key executives to their team.

Courtney Nichols Gould, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of the vitamin brand, said that partnering with CircleUp enabled SmartyPants was a success as they gained access to sophisticated accredited investors. "They saved us valuable time by managing the process for us and gave us access to investors who might not have crossed our paths but have strategic importance to us," she added.

CircleUp Founder and CEO Ryan Caldbeck said that they look forward to helping SmartyPants expand faster. "With a wealth of experience, talent and outstanding growth, SmartyPants fits the trend of high quality, healthy brands in which investors and consumers are interested," he said.
