Royal DSM, a Dutch USD12 billion life sciences and material sciences firm, announced its proposal to establish part of their operations in India. The project is expected to generate hundreds of jobs in the country. Royal DSM will slowly put their plans into action within the next couple of years.

According to President Bharath Sesha of DSM India, Royal DSM opened a center in Hyderabad for its accounting and finance operations in 2012. The said office now has a 75 headcount with a projected increase of 250 employees by 2015.

Royal DSM did not issue additional information with regard to the total number of jobs and an exact time frame for their plans. However, Sesha added that the company anticipates 70% of its growth to come from emerging economies such as India, China and Brazil. Besides investments in nutrition and renewable energy, Royal DSM is also currently exploring bio-fuels and housing industry ventures in the country.
