The Triton Fund announced that it had agreed to purchase Alpine Energie from Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA (FCC). No financial details were given in the forthcoming deal.

Since Triton Fund would be funding the acquisition using equity from its funds, it would still await regulatory approval before the deal could be finalized. Formed in 1999, the private equity firm supports mid-market companies in the industrial, business services and consumer/health sectors.

FCC is a Spanish company that specializes in construction and environmental services. Together with its subsidiaries, FCC provides such services as solid urban waste collection, treatment and elimination; maintenance of sewer systems, green areas and buildings as well as cement manufacturing, among others. Alpine Energie is a unit of FCC that does business in the telecommunications, energy and traffic sectors. It has a workforce of 3,000 with a yearly turnover of EUR 460 million or USD 612 million. Alpine Energie sales were generated primarily in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
