New York Times Co Chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr announced they won't be selling the New York Times. In a statement given through the NYT website, the publisher said, "Will our family seek to sell The Times? The answer to that is no." The announcement came one week after The Washington Post and The Boston Globe were sold to new owners.

He also stressed that the other members of the family as well as the trustees of the Ochs-Sulzberger Trust were "united in our commitment to work together with the company's board, senior management and employees to lead the New York Times forward into our global and digital future." Before selling The Post and smaller newspapers, the chairman and his Vice Chairman Michael Golden spoke with the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Washington Post Co Donald Graham but reiterated that selling New York Times was not part of the plan. The Graham family's ownership of The Post ended when Jeff Bezos of Amazon agreed to acquire the newspaper for a USD 250 million price tag.
