Siemens bags USD 966.8 million Saudi Aramco order

Siemens AG won a multimillion order today. The German engineering group announced that it bagged an order from Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Worth USD 966.8 million, the order was for components of its power plant. It included five steam turbines, ten gas turbines, ten heat recovery steam generators and fifteen generators. Six of the ten gas turbines will be made in Saudi Arabia. This was the largest order received by Siemens from the oil company.

An integrated technology company, Siemens has activities in energy, industry, and healthcare. Its six core segments are Energy, Healthcare, Equity Investments, Industry, Siemens Financial Services and Siemens IT Solutions and Services. It has fourteen divisions which include Building Technologies, Industry Solutions and Mobility, Industry Automation, Fossil Power Generation, Oil and Gas, and Renewable Energy, among others.

Saudi Aramco is an integrated global enterprise for petroleum and chemicals. Together with its subsidiaries, the oil company owns or has a stake in both local and international refineries. It is the sixth-largest oil refiner in the world.
